damn big damn mean damn green

Today was a green day for me, and its definitely not because i'm overly obsessed with the band as american idiots are, but because today is the premier of the green mean monster machine, *drum rolls- theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee hulk! Actually, i didn't have much say in the choice of movie, cause going with the flow is part of the show. As much as the previous sentence doesn't make sense, it is exactly what i am trying to convey. Movies nowadays make no sense of reality, because they are mainly based on surreality. Now, why the need for this avenue to escape from reality? Does it arise from the fact that the present is so daunting that it is no longer a gift? Or are we just in need of occasional respite from the dullness of life that we must channel our attention to fiction from which we derive peace of the mind? Haha, frankly, i don't know and don't care either!

But there's one thing i can tell about that movie, and that of MOST movies in recent times, it is a trait that they share in common, a deeply rooted tradition that has come out from nowhere, and that is that they all have lousy endings, nothing intriguing, much less anything appealing at all because they all have become so predictable. For instance, when the hulk emerged, we all know that there would be a worthy adversary that he would fight, or the whole bloody movie would become a documentary to be broadcasted on discovery channel. Well, the eventual outcome would be that good will triumph over evil, hence the predictability. However, if movie producers decided to be creative about endings, they'd be criticized as unfeeling and maybe even callous, followed by dismal ratings and poor turnout rate at the cinemas. Such is the requirement of today's movies that we can only blame ourselves for our shallowness. Ironic isn't it? No wonder Oscar Award winners are usually from movies NO ONE can possibly understand. Yet, despite all that is said, i have reserved a compliment for the movie i watched while freezing under the chilling air conditioner- the graphics were fantabulous. So...if u are a graphic addict and have second thoughts about watching the movie, i say, go for it!

Dear hardcore Greenday fans, i shall appease you all by paying tribute to one of their more popular songs- American Idiot. Lets have one minute of silence while reading the lyrics:

Don't wanna be an American idiot.
Don't want a nation under the new media.
And can you hear the sound of hysteria?
The subliminal mindfuck America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
Well that's enough to argue.

Well maybe I'm the faggot America.
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda.
Now everybody do the propaganda.
And sing along in the age of paranoia.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.
Well that's enough to argue.

Don't wanna be an American idiot.
One nation controlled by the media.
Information nation of hysteria.
It's going out to idiot America.

Welcome to a new kind of tension.
All across the alien nation.
Everything isn't meant to be okay.
Television dreams of tomorrow.
We're not the ones who're meant to follow.

Then again, forget it =)
