Bizarre Headlines!

Yesterday's STAR paper had this little column on the front page titled 'police expects crime rate to increase in the klang valley'. I just had to read the title to feel my blood boiling within. Sure, most of the government related organisations are unaccountable, irresponsible and maybe incorrigible; but after so much effort put into reforming the police force, ie increased wages, replacement of inspector general(s), and government repeated pledges to curb the country's soaring crime rate, the least we could expect is for this bunch of goons to have the decency to carry out their responsibilities; and here they are, insisting that they have improved, because now they're forewarning us of the dangers to come, GREAT! So this is very telling of the plan they have in store for us citizens, which i expect nothing of, because by speculating that crime rate will rise, they are in fact encouraging crime. That also reflects the efficacy of our police force where national security is concerned. It would be absurd to claim to not know how to solve this problem. Simply putting more officers on patrol would ease the already heavy reliance on privately employed residential security. If, even I can think of such an idea, shouldn't the supposedly vigilant inspector general be able to come up with something more concrete instead of slacking in his hellhole everyday and ordering mamak food every 2-3 hours? They blame it on the recent fuel price hike, while i would hold them solely culpable, because it just shows that we've made no progress in terms of security despite pouring funds into training more dumb brains into useful people. They have no contingency plan, because they've been more concerned about filling their own wallets than working on building a clean, just and civil society(as publicized during the government's election campaign). NOOBS!
